Thank You
You guys are not only amazing, thank you for explaining the little things for us newbies. ❤️❤️❤️
The sweet spot
A perfect mix of in the weeds process and some higher level theory mixed with a bit of humor. I always feel like I learn something and was entertained while I did. Apart from some of horrible takes on movies (TOP GUN) I fantastic podcast!
Much respect
Just started listening, buddy at work said he’d been listening. I have to say I’m really impressed. I’m at the same stage in my life as Michael and Ben, I can relate to what they’re saying. Thanks for the motivation guys!
Best easily digestible financial podcast
Everyone knows target date funds can be confusing, not to mention, time consuming, to manage. Luckily, Ben breaks things down in to layman’s terms and Michael is there to make sure he doesnt get too over enthusiastic. In all seriousness, these guys are great. If you're looking for stock picking advice you've come to the wrong place. Just solid commentary on financial markets that is easy to digest. Another reviewer commented that it’s like listening to two of your closest friends that have mastered their craft, which is a perfect description. Love the movie, book, and tv show recommendations at the end as well. Buy their books, subscribe to their newsletters, listen to Animal Spirits.
Fan since June 2019
I started my career in Wealth Management in 2016. I wasn’t a podcast guy until a friend recommended Michael and Ben, because they keep it simple, apply common sense, critical thinking, and give an educated opinion to the markets and everyday life. I enjoy the back and forth fella’s, keep doing great work!
It Finally Happened
Absolute serendipity on Episode 185 at precisely 28 minutes into the podcast when Ben inadvertently pronounces Jeff Bezos’ name properly (BAE-zoes, not BEE-zoes). This is the only thing that has held me back from giving this podcast a 5-star review - now that it has happened the financial markets, and myself, can finally be at peace and PE ratios will slowly return to the realm of logic. Great podcast though, you guys are awesome. Ben, please for the love of god come to the light and stay on the Baezos train
Great conversation financial podcast
Some specific points: - Non-traditional hosts (they don’t appear to be the type of people who like to hear themselves talk) - Good finance info - Sounds like talking to knowledgeable friends - Not too wonky
Makes sense (common) to me
Whether it is an intro to back door IRAs (wow that is legal??) to their weekly report from the spirit world, always worth a listen. I have enjoyed hearing their fundamental understanding of the economy evolve over the last year. At first I was not interested in the “talk your book” episodes but I found a few to be great. I would love them to talk to Stephanie Kelton about how investors should work with the crypto-MMT world we are muddling into.
The Dan Carlins of Finance
It’s so refreshing to hear a finance/investing podcast that doesn’t aggressively recommend certain stocks but still manages to comment on the markets. Their financial advice goes beyond the traditional finance podcasts that have dozens of episodes based on “the 10 things you should be doing” that we’ve all heard before as they bring in guests to their podcast.
Great
great
A master ‘aggregator’ of podcasts
These guys are like the cliff notes from high school. W so much content out there, Mike and Ben do a great job distilling and maintaining variety. AS is a true gem - keep it up fellas!!!
Absolutely worth a listen
Ben and Michael have great banter and know their stuff! The financial insights are timeless and the media recommendations are a nice bonus.
Great podcast
A must listen to show.
Amazing podcast
Very easy listen especially for someone who is new to investing.
Highly recommend!
Discovered their clips on YouTube and quickly converted over to the full podcast. I’m not a professional investor or finance guy by any means so I appreciate the diverse manner in which they talk about topics in that space. I’m in my early 30s and never really paid a lot of attention to wealth-building outside contributing to my 401k and personal savings account so listening to these guys the past year has really motivated my wife and I to not only think bigger but learn more about the market, asset diversification, etc. Most importantly it has been reassuring to hear regularly that there are pathways to wealth and financial independence that don’t involve constantly trying to beat the market or needing to achieve a professional broker-level of knowledge and awareness. That isn’t a criticism of those strategies...it just isn’t the strategy that works for our individual lifestyle. Highly recommend. Always interesting stuff discussed. They also offer great content outside the podcast and I’ve invested in following their blogs and purchasing their books.
My Favorite Podcast
I am so grateful to these two guys for making such an honest, insightful, and funny podcast— one that I prioritize over all others each week.
2 to 3 seconds
That’s how long one should hold down the toilet handle after flushing. I learned that on Animal Spirits and now every time I flush I think about the podcast. Turns out Michael’s plumber is great at both investing and plumbing. Love the show, guys!
Must listen for anyone wanting to learn about personal finance and investing
One of my favorite podcasts. The guys are down to earth and make learning about markets and personal finance enjoyable. Not going to lie...almost dropped a medicine ball on my face once because I started laughing while listening during a workout.
Great Listenable Financial Podcasts
So many financial podcasts are just not great to listen to. Animal Spirits is one of the few I find myself being excited for new episodes. Give it a listen and see for yourself.
First time long time
Great show, I love the variety of topics and mixing in the pop culture. Both your perspectives are great to listen to. Keep up the recommendations, we all need it during COVID!
Good show
Entertaining show and good discussions on personal finance. Their macro views are pretty terrible but I enjoy the show.
Solid balance of informative and entertaining
I've been listening to Mike & Ben via Animal Spirits for probably two years now. Having tried a couple investing podcasts, this was the first one that stuck for me and I've listened ever since. Mike & Ben strike a great balance in keeping their conversations educational/informative yet entertaining. They've got strong chemistry commonly poking fun at one another but keeping the conversations moving at a good pace. I've found they can be reactionary, as we all tend to be, but as long as you can listen without taking everything they say as gospel then it's an amazing podcast for learning about investing and keeping up to date on the markets and greater financial world.
Great Podcast on Markets, Life, And Random Stuff
I love listening to Ben and Michael talk about markets and investing, also personal finance advice and tv/book referrals. Cheers to these dudes.
Highly recommend
I am a big fan of the show and these guys. Thanks for the great podcast, Michael and Ben!
Let’s move on
Such enjoyable conversation each week. Informative and entertaining. Thanks guys!
Amazing for a couple of not coddled Millennials
Late to the party, OK Boomer, I have been listening to Ben and Mike for a couple of months. Regardless of where you are in you investing journey, listening to ASP, Animal Spirits Podcast is more than worth the time. Take a break. Go for a walk. Listen.
listen every week
The main weekly show is a nice lighthearted look at what’s going on in the markets. I always look forward to the show and the recommendations at the end. The ‘talk your book’ episodes aren’t as good on average so I don’t always listen, but there are several high-quality interviews to be had.
Like listening to two friends if they had common sense
Good banter and sensible conversation about personal finance. Michael is bald. Ben watched the Sopranos while writing his blog - some might say this is an unforgivable sin but personally I don’t hold it against him.
Entertains and informative
Michael and Ben mostly talk about markets and investing, but tangent into multiple other topics. They have an enjoyable banter that keeps the podcast flowing. I always enjoy their book and movie reviews.
Favorite finance podcast
Very relatable content and conversation related to investments and finance. Easy and interesting to follow. Highly recommend
