Compounding the way to freedom
I came to the US from Cuba six years ago. I knew learning English before getting here was a must, and I did so, mostly, by watching all of my favorite movies and TV shows in English without Spanish subtitles, always having music in English on in the background, and reading English books. Add a year of proper academic English studies, and I was set. I got really interested in the markets in 2020, as many others did as well. I opened a small account on TD and made a few trades, although, I will acknowledge, I didn’t know much about what I was doing at first. In a way, the markets were as unknown to me as English was a decade ago. For about two years now, I have immersed myself in a similar learning process. Have traded “The Sopranos” for “What Are Your Thoughts”, Tarantino and Nolan for Michael and Ben at “Animal Spirits”, and each weekly episode of “The Compound and Friends” has become the music of choice for Friday’s commute. As extremely complex as markets seemed to be at first; although acknowledging how multilayered, interconnected, and unpredictable it all is: financial markets, the economy, politics, human psychology, etc, my understanding of all this is better now, as is the roadmap to a well-planned retirement / financial literacy. To the Compound Team, I truly appreciate all of your content. On top of delivering extremely valuable opinions and knowledge, you do so in a way that also entertains, and more importantly, that it feels genuine, unvarnished and honest. From this (newly) American citizen, compounding the way towards my second freedom, thank u!

Could be really great
After listening to four podcasts I think there is a big future for this podcast. Josh Brown is a terrific host and IMO should be the host of Halftime Report, at least on a part-time basis. Maybe if Josh and Mike Santoli split this role, Halftime would reach its potential. If guest lists for Compound can maintain the recent quality of Adam Parker and Nick Colas I will be a regular listener. Some improvements: Cut out the open mike pre-opening, really unprofessional. Fix the background noise, 20 minutes of sirens and personal telephone ringing, are irritating. Anyway great start - keep it up!
Great Show
Extremely insightful show.
Absolutely spectacular podcast
A must listen, the weekly guests consistently provide informative interviews. I listen to this podcast every week, I often re-listen as well. The information and market perspective provided is top notch. Thanks to everyone involved in this podcast!
Best Podcast Ever
The episode with Tony Dwyer is the best episode. He closed the debate regarding interest rates, inflation, and EPS.
Smart and entertaining
These guys do a great job, have A-list guests and always keep it interesting. Also, they always ask us to leave reviews so I’m doing my part. Keep up the good work guys!
This is a must listen!
Great podcast and amazing content as well. I started listening to Josh and his podcast after watching a short interview of him on CNBC. Amazing personality, extremely humble, and knowledgeable about the stock market. As a young man aspiring to get actively involves in the financial arena this podcast and all the guesses are GOLD! Can’t wait to one day have the opportunity to meet the team in person and hopefully we can cross paths as my journey in the financial industry is just beginning. Keep it up the great content!
Great show
Was new to podcasts and was searching for a podcast that could inform me about investing and up was up to date. Had heard j brown on CNBC and eventually found the podcast. J brown is the man and though batnick sounds like a nerd at first, he ends up actually being the boy. Id also recommend Animal Spirits as they have two episodes a week apposed to just one. Their guess guests features are great, they covers all forms of investing from equities, bonds and crypto and technical analysis. Highly recommend.
Hilarious and Informative
These guys could legitimately be comedians. I look forward to each podcast. Gets into the weeds of the financial world while also being high level entertainment for the average person.
53 and no longer afraid!
Compound Team,I love your show! You have taught me that the market will go up and it will go down -Just don’t freak out, stay the course..You guys have mastered the ability to communicate the market world to me and those like me. You are the work Friends I wish I had! Keep up the great work!
One of the best shows on the markets and investing:
Last Fridays show “don’t buy new lows” was one of the best shows- so much good stuff in that episode. This show is a must for any market watcher driven by the best host in the game. The caliber of guest is great, always fun and interesting , and the 60-90 minute format is right for this type of “conversation” Without a doubt my favorite podcast
Great show for advisors
Love Josh’s casual conversational style with great guests, I feel it gets them to speak their mind honestly rather than covering up statements with jargon. Batnick sometimes interrupts too much (adhd from his time in crypto) but he provides tremendous insight so I’ll let that slide. Keep up the great work guys
Markets, Culture, and Comedy
I love these guys. I’ve been listening to the Compound and Friends for close to a year. Animal Spirits brought me here and similar to it, I look forward to listening to these guys every week. After each listen I’m more educated on the markets and finance, I’ve had plenty of laughs, and I get surprisingly legit recommendations on movies, podcasts, and books I’ll never read. These people are all super genuine, and I feel like I’ve gotten to know their personalities so well that when I listen it’s like sitting around with a group of my own friends. I never thought I’d find content that is so informative and entertaining in one podcast: I hope the episodes keeps coming. Thanks for everything guys
Best Finance Podcast
I listen to finance podcasts and CNBC all the time. Josh and Michael are the only people who can provide frequent and good content without spending 80% of the episodes repeating themselves endlessly. Compare this to the great Guy Adami’s podcasts, good info, but wayyyy to repetitive. New insights on every compound.
Great show!
Fun and informative. Thx fellas.
Amazing
Fantastic pod. Way better than Animal Spirits.
The best part of a Friday
Love the show. Look forward to it ever week. Knowledgeable hosts and guests and valuable perspective
Approachable and Funny info on investing/Finance
These guys are hilarious and humble, but it’s clear they know their stuff. Approachable for a novice like me. Smart hosts and smarter guests make for a great podcast.
Quality and informative
I LOVE this podcast because I am never disappointed when I listen. Josh and Michael are a wealth of knowledge and their guest are phenomenal! I began listening to these guys 8 months ago after they appeared on EYL as guest; and after that I’ve been a fan ever since.
Time well spent…
In a business, and world for that matter, where every second is incredibly valuable listening to this podcast is time well spent. Smart, funny, informative, educational, and relevant.
Three Stooges
Josh, Duncan, and Michael hilariously talk about the market and pop culture with their guests. No question this is the best and most entertaining podcast out today. Doesn’t matter if you’ve got a dollar or $100 million… This is a must listen.
Best Pod This Side of the Hudson
Finance Bob Vila (legend) and Vin Diesel’s long lost Long Island brother discuss a grab bag of topical finance issue. A mix of Long Island chop shop speak and CNBC professionalism make for interest takes you won’t find anywhere else. Just make sure to not cross the real kingpin, Duncan. Or his hive of rabid fans will dismantle you faster than Cathy Wood can say deep value. 10/10 would recommend to anyone
