Podcast and blogs are great
I got acquainted first with Ben Carlson through Ben’s blog, a wealth of common sense. I enjoyed his thought process and immediately starting listening to this Podcast when they started. At that time I wasn’t as familiar with Michael, but have since also started reading his blog. Both are great. I highly recommend them and this podcast.
This podcast is so good.
Not only are these two razor sharp and do a great job providing commentary on items of interest in the capital markets and investment management, but they have great rapport and are quite funny. Their intros - "trading 3x leveraged ETFs for the love of the game" and "I've never drank coffee, I've never been on Facebook..." perfectly encapsulate their personalities. So good.
Super Entertaining
I didn't think I could make room for ANOTHER investing podcast in my rotation, but this has quickly become one of my favs. The episodes are relatively brief and to the point. Ben and Michael's banter is super entertaining while also being informative. Highly recomended.
Never Miss an Episode
Ben and Michael are great, especially for people managing their own money. Lots of great insights as well as some friendly and interesting banter. If you are into the markets, this is a must-listen.
Fresh takes, Great Insights
Learn, laugh, and take your understanding of markets and investing to a new level - great for professionals and novices alike. Ben and Michael give you something new each episode. They don’t simply dictate how you should invest. They easily explain why they invest the way they do - and how they got here from their history. Ps - from episode 16 - Paul Mitchell invested in Patron - the first premium tequila.
Crisis Alpha
The best well read of all financial podcasters summarizing the relevant financial info of the day through the lens of efficient market/John Bogle/William Bernstein theories. Topics range from pension fund foibles to personal financial asset allocation info. And you gotta luv their perspective on BitCoin providing Crisis Alpha ;)
Good, light - and nothing wrong with that
I really like these two guys writing from their blogs. I would recommend to read their blogs first as they are very insightful. But enjoyable blog reds while you are working if you like investing. Recommended.
Animal Spirits
It’s the Seinfeld of financial podcasts. “It’s about nothing.”
Keep your head in a crazy distracting investing environment
Are you an investor trying to “do it right”? You know, spending less than you earn, saving automatically, investing in diversified assets, etc? Then this podcast is for you. Michael and Ben are two of the most sane people on Wall Street and will help you keep focused and on track in your financial life.
Straight Killa, No Filla
Mike & Ben are your favorite investment thinker's favorite investment thinkers. These guys bring the heat and go hard in the paint. They are always ahead of the game with fresh insights and witty humor. What is there not to love.
Always an entertaining smorgasbord of investing know how
High energy and fast paced, Michael and Ben always manage to cover a huge amount of ground in these 30 minute podcasts. From general investment topics, through candid tales of the mistakes they've made themselves over the years, to the best of what they're reading and watching, this is one of my favourite investment related podcasts.
Happiness podcast
Always entertaining! Good solid financial commentary with humor!
Worthwhile investment of life energy
Very interesting conversation, always lots to learn, high energy, they know their stuff & the only podcast that I don’t speed up to listen. Also love the honesty & confessions such as making mistakes which makes them highly relatable.
Insightful and promising
I’ve been listening to each episode weekly and find this podcast to be a valuable source of news, investing wisdom, and resources to go deeper into the world of investing. These guys have clearly been tallying up their 10,000 hours of study and practice and it’s fun to get their honest takes. The podcast is still in its early days, so a few bumps in the flow, but that shouldn’t deter you from enjoying the content.
Essential listening
Covers a lot of ground, entertaining and informal “run through” of finance stuff like 2 (very smart) guys having a beer. Love this podcast.
Yes!
Ben and Michael shine and shine brightly in Animal Spirits. Smart, relevant, and funny - make time for this podcast. Recommended!
A good take on most things markets from a sensible middle ground
I very much appreciate a podcast which maintains relevance through time, as opposed to one which is mostly or wholly news-based. Both wonderful bloggers and writers with some wit to spare make a great show and cover topics which others cover, but from an angle which I personally find more appealing and seemingly more relatable. More please. :)
Good talk!
I've been a reader of Ben's website for quite some time. Always enjoy his insights. Really enjoyed the show too!
Fun Podcast
Good balance of insight yet keeping it light enough to be entertaining. Helps disconnect from standard finance podcasts, yet still informative. If you follow both or either on twitter, this is a good addition to it.
Funny show but could have more depth
Feels like a weekly fireside chat between 2 smart PM. It’s entertaining but lack depth. If you could invite guest here and there and chat with them about a topic, for example, I’m sure Downtown Josh Brown 😂 would be down. That would have a lot of value to listeners. Personal and movie section is a nice touch please keep that.
Great Podcast for all Investors
Great topics and conversation that cover the current market market environment. Easy to understand and great for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge on investing!
Great 20-30min/week listen
I follow their great blogs and this podcasts is a really good complement to those. As a finance professional, I think these guys are top notch.
Fun with Finance
This is both fun & informative. Ben & Mike take topics from their excellent blogs and talk about them in what just seems like desk chatter. Mike’s humor with Ben’s professorial like persona are a perfect match. They relate current events in finance to their personal lives, other areas of society, and in general just bring it for about 30 minutes.
